I’ve made a fair amount of progress. I really like how it is turning out. I think I will have to add some kind of a border around the outside though, as it will look unfinished otherwise. I am thinking a double border so that I can do corner blocks by fussy cutting the green square out of the middle of the pink material. We’ll see how it goes.

Wedding Quilt Block
I have started Trevor’s quilt block. The theme is the roaring 20’s. I chose a block from one of Erin Russek’s free montly quilt blocks called Mimi’s Bloomers. I chose to leave off the dots at the end of the flowers to give it a more Art Deco feel.
First I drafted the pattern then made freezer paper templates.
I ironed on the templates and cut out all the pieces. Next I started pressing the edges in. I only did a few as I get bored with the process. I’ll do more as needed.
I appliqued the four central pattern pieces on. This material is what I used to determine the rest of my fabrics.
The finished block will be 20” x 20”.
